Our RNs are the lifeblood of the center. We provide the training, you bring your RN skills and a heart for helping people. Right now our RNs provide limited o.b. ultrasounds, urine pregnancy tests, and client education. As we transition into adding more services, they will also provide STD testing and treatment. In addition to semi-annual training, this position is a 2-day a month commitment. If you feel called to help those facing these issues by providing top-notch medical services and compassionate, dignity-driven care, are excited about working in a pro-life, faith-based environment - we would LOVE to talk to you! We will also be looking for other medical professionals - we will post more as soon as we have all the details!
We regularly have people ask how they can help but don't necessarily feel called to work with clients. Here is a perfect way to serve that anyone can do. With our large new facility comes much more upkeep in order to keep our building nice for our clients - more than we can keep up with. We are hoping to put on work nights 2-3 times a year or as needed to help us stay on top of projects. We will also provide some pizza and beverages Here are the details:
Work to be done: it will vary, but will usually include things like painting, light handyman projects, cleaning, sorting, etc. We will have the projects lined up ahead of time so people can sign up for the item they feel best suited for.
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours
Who can participate: Due to confidentiality and the nature of our business, we are looking for those individuals ages 18 and over - no children please.
For teens who would like to serve, whether it would be as a group or individual, please contact us for opportunities that we have.
Our first work night will be scheduled for a Friday night in January or February. Please contact us if you would be interested in helping!
Childcare in our play area
We are looking to create a list of volunteers who can come and play with the children of our parents who are here taking classes. Some of our client's children need someone to keep them occupied so mom or dad can focus on their classes. Having someone who can serve that way would be such a blessing to those parents. the staff and especially the children who love to have people love on them!
We recently had a volunteer serve in that way and it allowed the staff to make some real inroads with a client because mom was not distracted. So while it may not seem like a big help, it is truly significant for us and our parents.
Be able to move quickly :)
Be able to pass a background check
How it will work:
We will call when we have a client who has an appointment and see if you are available to come in. If not, we will move on to the next volunteer - so no pressure. Appointments are scheduled between the hours of 11:15 am and 4:00 pm and generally last about an hour.
If you are interested or have questions, please call the center at 715-748-1235
We are always looking for help with our various events: Our annual banquet (April), and Father-Daughter Dance (October)
