Family Support Coordinator

Who: Preference will be given to those with a background in social work, working with parents, working with children or another field related to this type of work. This position will be mostly administrative, but will also have opportunities for working with clients.

What: This person will be responsible for training and leading a team of parent mentors who help provide an established and growing parenting program, as well as performing the administrative tasks of the program itself.  They also must be in agreement with the center’s Statement of Faith.

When:  This position is part-time, Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.  This position is open and will remain open until filled.  We would like to have someone in place to start training no later than August 1st.

Volunteer Positions

** The following positions are unpaid, volunteer positions. Thank you for your consideration!

Healthy U Volunteers

Who: People who are in alignment with our belief in optimal sexual health (delaying sex until marriage), in agreement with our Statement of Faith – and, of course, love teens and desire God’s best for them! We would love to have people from each of the communities we currently present in, but it isn’t required.

What: Volunteers will be a “second” person to help the coordinator of the program. It would involve things like handing out and collecting papers, handing out goody bags to the students, or whatever else the coordinator needs help with. For the right individuals, there may be the opportunity to help present some of the non-medical info, but that is not a requirement.

When: Volunteers need to be available during the school day, usually about an hour at a time.

Volunteer Parent Mentor

Who: People who have a desire to help parents be the best they can be! Must be able to show and share the love of Christ, work with a variety of people and be available to volunteer for 2-3 hours one day a week. Training will be provided.

What: Meet with our clients and utilize our parenting and life skills curriculum to guide parents who are struggling. Utilize the spiritual application portion of the lessons to initiate spiritual conversations as the Lord opens doors.  They also must be in agreement with the center’s Statement of Faith.

When: 2-3 hours per day, once a week, as needed. We are in need of 6 or more volunteer mentors. We primarily need women who can work with moms at this moment. This position is open and will remain open until filled.

Volunteer Receptionist (Fill-In Position)

Who: We are seeking a friendly individual to fill in when needed greeting clients and answering the phone, which is considered a hotline. Individual should have computer skills, a friendly personality, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

What: The ability to stay calm under pressure is a must, as this position will be answering a variety of calls. In down time, this position will complete various office duties as needed. Training will be provided and the volunteer will be put in the position once they are comfortable.

When: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm as needed only

Volunteer Spanish Interpreter

Who: People who speak fluently in both Spanish and English, with a heart for Jesus and the work of Abiding Care!

What: Interpreters work with our Family Support Coordinator to interpret for Spanish-speaking clients. They also interpret during medical appointments as needed. Interpreter also has the potential to become a Spanish Parent Mentor (see description above). If this sounds like a good fit for you, please contact us about this opportunity to bless our clients!

When: 1-2 hours per day, on an as-needed basis.

Volunteer Nurse Assistants

Who: LPNs, MAs or retired nurses who would be able to come in and assist our nurses with a variety of tasks to help with the flow of appointments.

What: Tasks would include things like greeting patients and checking them in, running a pregnancy test or STD test, wiping down exam rooms between patients, responding to patient text messages, etc.

When: After our new Clinic Manager gets trained in, possibly by summer 2024
